Chapter Fifteen
Olivia lay sprawled on Liamâs bed, scrolling through her phone. She was in a bad moodâcapital B, capital M. It wasnât just the throbbing headache that the Tylenol hadnât shifted. It wasnât even the regret and embarrassment she felt about letting her feelingsâand the alcoholâget the better of her and coming on to Casey like a bimbo in heat. Her mood was off because sheâd wanted to see Casey this morning to apologize and to make sure everything was okay between them. But Casey had already gone, driving Billie and Louise to their morning appointments, instead of Olivia and Liam as had been the plan.
The change of schedule seemed deliberate. Olivia wasnât surprised. She had told Casey everythingâevery grubby detail of what had happened with Kristinâand then tried to drag her into bed. Shame coursed through her body, chased close behind by waves of nausea. Her hangover wasnât being gentle.
She had an afternoon of rehearsals after the morningâs interviews and tonight was Louiseâs big poker game, so she wouldnât see Casey at all until tomorrow. She rubbed her temples and sighed deeply. Her attempt to get closer to Casey had backfired spectacularly, and she only had herself to blame.
Liam came into the room wrapped in a towel. âAre you gonna pout and sigh like that all day?â He hunted through the drawers in the dresser as he spoke. âYouâve got a face like a smacked arse.â
Despite her mood, Olivia couldnât help but smile. Theyâd heard a woman say it to her child the day they arrived in London and theyâd been using it ever since.
âIâm serious. You look fed up.â Liam found a pair of shorts and slipped them on under the towel before dropping it and turning to her.
âThatâs because I am.â Olivia responded grouchily. âI have a hangover andââ She waved at him to turn around. âI donât need a close-up of you in your underwear.â
âJeez, Liv, for someone who gets undressed and does unspeakably filthy things on camera, youâre such a prude in real life.â Liam picked up a pair of jeans from the chair and pulled them on. âBetter?â
âMuch, thank you.â Olivia could have reminded him that it was Susie who did those things, not her, but constantly pointing it out was getting dull.
Liam sat on the edge of the bed. âI actually owe you a big thank you. I couldnât sleep last night because I was worrying about the big love scene Lou and I have to do today. And I came out of my roomââ He cleared his throat. âI was going to go and see if Louise was up. Iâd convinced myself I had to tell her how I felt and how difficult it all is for me.â He picked at the bedcover. âBut then I saw you and Casey and I went straight back inside.â He smiled. âSo you making out with Casey in the corridor saved me from making a fool of myself with Louise.â He held out a fist for her to bump.
